WELCOME

"The Douglas" offers unique accommodation in a rural setting, bordering the ocean and the Douglas Apsley National Park and only 10 minutes from Bicheno on Tasmania's East Coast. This area is a walkers paradise. There are short or long beach walks, and for the keen bush walker there are many options, including a two day walk in the National Park. For surfers, there's a fantastic right hand break on the reef when the surf is up... Come and enjoy! Our spacious, comfortable and affordable family cottages are fully self contained with all linen provided. Self contained camping is also available in 10 acres of natural surrounds. There is plenty of car parking space, and pets are welcome if kept under control.

Mountain View Cabin

Featuring one double bedroom and three twin rooms, the Mountain View cabin sleeps up to 8 people.

There is a central kitchen living area with electric heating. Bedrooms and living area fully carpeted. There is also a laundry, bathroom and separate toilet.

Real country living, hear the river trickle by!

The River View Cabin

The River View Cabin sleeps 4 people, in one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The kitchen living area is heated by a wood burner with wood supplied.

The bedrooms and living area are fully carpeted and there is also a laundry, bathroom and separate toilet.

Douglas River Camping

Self contained camping is available on 10 acres of natural surrounds with several different areas including a beautiful bush setting, flat grassed and riverbank camping.

With several kilometres of beautiful white sandy beaches, you can fish, surf, canoe, swim, explore rock pools, bike ride, explore headlands or simply relax. Swim in the pristine waters of the Douglas River, either at the river mouth or in swimming holes. "The Douglas" is pet friendly, but they must be kept under control and cleaned up afterwards. You must have your own chemical toilet and suitable coverage. No fires are permitted (including the beach).
